Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms describe what the Lost and Found Platform provides, what is expected of you when you use it, and the limits of what the service can promise.
The service
The platform lets you register a report about something lost or something found, attempts to match the two, and organises claim verification and the handover of property. You can use it through the web portal, through WhatsApp, or by direct message on Instagram and Facebook.
What the service is not
It is not a police service and does not replace filing an official complaint. If what you lost was stolen, report it to the competent authority.
It is not an emergency service. Do not use it to report danger to a person.
It does not guarantee that what you lost will be found. A match depends on somebody else having handed the item in and registered it.
What is expected of you
Be truthful in describing what you lost or found. An inaccurate report can put an item into the wrong hands.
Do not claim an item that is not yours.
Do not send anything unrelated to your report, including bank card numbers and passwords — the service does not need them and will never ask for them.
Do not use the service to harass anybody or to try to reach another person’s data.
Claims and handover
Before anything is handed over, ownership is verified. You may be asked to describe details only the owner would know, or to prove your identity. The service will not state those details to you first — doing so would answer the verification question on your behalf.
Automated replies
On the messaging channels an automated assistant answers you first. It sometimes misunderstands, which is why you can always ask for a member of staff. What the assistant says is not a final decision on your case; that rests with the operating organisation.
Availability
The service or any of its channels may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, including an outage in a channel Meta operates. The service makes no promise of round-the-clock operation.
Your data
The privacy policy explains what we collect, why, and when it is deleted; the data deletion page explains how to request deletion. Both form part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
